Six university teams converged in Des Moines, Iowa a day before the Central States Region Convention to compete in the CSR EP Student Design Competition. Representing their schools, the teams were challenged with addressing the extensive network of sky bridges in downtown Des Moines, determining whether they are a positive or negative attributes in the urban setting. Each team received the competition brief and experienced the project site at the beginning of the day, then quickly dispersed to the gracious host firms across the city for a 12 hour, charette-style design exercise. The following morning, each team was afforded a time of presentation and feedback on their various responses to the competition challenge proposed.
