Hector Martinez-Rosales was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, grew up in Garden City, KS., and currently resides in Overland Park, KS. Hector received his Master of Architecture and Minor in Community and City Planning from the College of Architecture, Planning, and Design at Kansas State University. Currently, in his role as an architectural designer with DLR Group, he focuses on leading and facilitating the realization of K-12 and Hospitality projects from conceptual design to construction documents. His ambition as a designer is to elevate the human experience and foster well-being in the built environment, especially for under-represented communities.
Hector finds great value in leadership and community enrichment opportunities. He serves as an Associate Representative for the AIA Kansas Executive Board, providing feedback and insight to better the engagement of aspiring architects throughout the state of Kansas. He also serves in the National Organization for Minority Architects (NOMA) KC Executive Board, and is in constant pursuit to be part of recreational sport teams. One of his ongoing endeavors is Lead to Read KC, where he serves as a reading mentor for younger students at the Academy for Integrated Arts (AFIA) in Kansas City, MO. |
