Nate Otis, AIA, is an Architect and project manager with Shive-Hattery Architecture and Engineering in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Nate has been in the Iowa Corridor area for the last 7 years after working in Minneapolis for a number of years. His work involves a wide range of project types including, higher education, hospitality, and commercial work. Notable projects include the University of Iowa, Pappajohn Biomedical Discovery Building and the Hotel Minneapolis. Nate is passionate about the design process and the impact it has on the human experience.
Nate is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and the University of Kansas. In 2007 he graduated from the University of Kansas with his Masters of Architecture. While at Kansas, Nate spent his time working with the prestigious Studio804 design build program as well studying abroad in Europe for a semester.
Recently, Nate has served as the President of the local AIA chapter. Here he has been a board member for the last five years before stepping into the President role. He has also served on the board of various nonprofit organizations as well serving on a local Young Professionals board as the marketing director.
