Kate Hier is an architect dedicated to the integration of design thinking throughout the architectural process. She graduated with her Master of Architecture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2012, and currently works at The Clark Enersen Partners in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Kate’s architectural interests lie in the urban condition and the blending of architecture, landscape, and infrastructure. She was invited to present her thesis research at The Nature of Spatial Practices Conference at the Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture in 2013. Kate is also interested in digital/ physical hybrid-media drawing and watercolor. She was a finalist in the 2011 Ken Roberts Memorial Delineation Competition and a Gold Medal winner in AIA NE’s 2012 Art X Architects competition.
Kate has been involved in AIA leadership at the local and regional levels. She has served a two year term as Associate director for AIA Lincoln, and she is currently in the second year of her term as AIA Central States Regional Associate Director and the Emerging Professional Committee Senior Chair. She is also a member of the College of Architecture Friends Association board.
